EVENT POLICY

Life With A Purpose is committed to providing a respectful and safe environment for all LWAP Volunteers and Team Members or Employees, Contractors, Guests, Members and Non-Members (hereby referred to as Attendees).

This policy (hereby referred to as Policy) is designed to assist individuals in the understanding of the terms of events held or hosted by Life With A Purpose (hereby referred to as LWAP and It).

This Policy serves the purpose of ensuring that all LWAP events (Events) can be safely enjoyed by all Attendees. The Policy sets out:

  • The Standards/Code of Conduct required of Attendees; and

  • The steps LWAP may take to ensure the safety of Its Attendees.

 

GOAL AND INTENTION
LWAP’s goal and intention is that all LWAP Events be:

  • Free from any harassment towards LWAP Event Attendees. LWAP is committed to preventing and does not tolerate any form of harassment, violence, or any other inappropriate conduct at Its Events; and

  • Held in compliance with relevant Public Health Orders and directives, as well as all venue safety requirements, policies, procedures, and measures.

 

1. MINIMUM STANDARDS/CODE OF CONDUCT AT EVENTS
(a) As a condition of entry, all Event Attendees must agree with and comply with the standards/code of conduct set out in this Policy.

(b) LWAP Event Attendees must agree to abide by the following minimum standards of conduct at all Its Events:

(i) Demonstrate respect, courtesy, an overall good attitude toward all Attendees – be it members, non-members, volunteers and anyone part of the LWAP Team, guests or Employees, or employees of any and all Event venues where LWAP events are held/hosted.

(ii) LWAP reserves the right for Its Team/Team Members or Employees to remove Attendees, and request that Attendees (or any unauthorised person) leave any LWAP Event and Event Venue for failure to meet or abide by the standards and code of conduct set out in this Policy. It reserves the right to take any other action deemed necessary and that is available to It under Australian Law or any other rules that apply to membership or attendance at Events.

(iii) Refrain from any conduct which may reasonably be perceived or deemed as manipulative, coercive, harassing, intimidating, negative (in such a way that it affects the rhythm/atmosphere of the Event, safety and well-being, and comfort of other Attendees), overbearing or physically, sexually, psychologically, or emotionally threatening.

(iii.a) No harm or abuse towards anyone, including Children (Child/Children refers to a person below the age of eighteen [18] years of age), will be tolerated – whether it be verbal, physical, mental/psychological, sexual, or manipulative in nature. LWAP reserves the right to take any action deemed necessary and available to It under Australian Law, including reporting of incidents relating to this to the relevant authorities.

(iii.b) Attendees agree to demonstrate respect for all Attendees, including Children present at any Event.

2. EVENT REGISTRATION
(a) All LWAP Event tickets and registrations will be provided through the LWAP website. LWAP will never ask for payment on any other platforms other than from www.lwap.com.au unless otherwise stated on Its website’s relevant event page. Displaying proof of registration may be requested of Attendees upon arrival as a condition of entry.

(b) Unless otherwise stated, registration is mandatory and is a condition of entry to all LWAP Events. A person that wishes to attend a LWAP Event but did not register or purchase a ticket (where applicable) prior to an in-person Event may be denied entry for various reasons:

(i) Limitations with venue seating or space

(ii) Limitations regarding food provisions prepared for registered Attendees

(iii) Event and venue safety and regulations and precautions

(iv) The discretion of the LWAP Team

Entry may be granted where applicable and permissible at the discretion of LWAP as long as the person agrees to abide by the standards and code of conduct stated in this Policy, as well as all venue policies, procedures, safety measures, and guidelines as directed by venue staff.

(c) All Children attending the Event must be accompanied by an Adult (Adult refers to a person aged eighteen [18] and above) and must be registered prior to the event in order to attend. Children that are brought to an event without registration may be denied entry according for failure to register, and for other reasons that may be applicable (see Clause 2b).

(d) All adults that bring a Child/Children must abide by the minimum standards set below:

(i) Take full responsibility of the Child/Children’s safety and well-being at all times whilst in attendance at all LWAP Events.

(ii) Demonstrate the ability to monitor and manage the behaviour of the Child/Children at all times, and manage/encourage positive behaviour appropriately in such a way that the Child/Children’s behaviour and the Adult’s behaviour management methods do not affect the rhythm/atmosphere of the Event, and the safety and comfort of other Attendees). Any behaviour management must not be physically, sexually, psychologically, or emotionally threatening (see Clause 1b.iii).

(iii) Unless otherwise clearly stated on the relevant LWAP Event page, LWAP does not provide childcare and will not be held liable for any incidents that occur due to the failure by the accompanying Adult to abide by the minimum standards of conduct in this Policy.

3. HEALTH, SAFETY, ACCESSIBILITY
(a) All LWAP Event Attendees agree to arrive in good hygiene, good health, and properly dressed to avoid any such or related injuries or risk of harm to other Attendees.

(b) LWAP does not hold a food or alcohol licence and will not serve meals independently; LWAP may provide light snacks and non-alcoholic beverages that are not classified as a meal in accordance with health regulations. This will only be done so if mentioned on the Event page. Meals will only be made available (if mentioned on the Event page) for purchase by Attendees or as a part of your pre-paid Event ticket at licenced venues that provide meals, or through other licenced catering companies and contractors.

(c) LWAP Attendees must abide by the following minimum standards:

(i) Report dietary requirements for snacks where relevant and where requested. LWAP is not liable where dietary allergies have not been reported and/or where the Attendee has decided to consume snacks and beverages otherwise not labelled as being acceptable to consume as per their allergies.

(ii) Bring your own light food/meals where possible and where the venue or Event does not restrict food.

(iii) Agree to consume food, snacks, or beverages in the designated areas, and refrain from doing so in the areas where it is not permitted.

(d) Any severe allergies and medical conditions (where applicable and appropriate) must be reported to LWAP prior to any Event. All Attendees must abide by the following minimum standards:

(i) Report any prescription medication (that falls under the classification of a recreational drug) to the LWAP Event Organiser, especially if children will be in attendance at the Event.

(ii) Administer any personal medications in such a manner that there is no risk of exposing other Attendees to it, and in such a manner that it is secured/enclosed and not be accessible to children accidentally at any time.

(iii) Refrain from sharing any medication without the clear consent of the receiving Attendee, for which all Attendees involved take full responsibility for, and agree to not hold LWAP responsible or liable for any incidents as a result of this in any way.

(e) Attendees will not be permitted to bring or consume alcohol, use vapes or cigarettes, or any unlawful recreational substances at Its Events. If smoking is unavoidable, Attendees agree to do so far away from other Attendees and in the appropriate designated ‘smoking’ areas alone to avoid compromising the comfort health, safety, and well-being of any Attendees, cause disruptions to the Event, or compromise the Event venue in any way.

(i) Where an Attendee fails to abide by these standards, and where another Attendee is affected (Adult or Child), or where the Event venue is affected or compromised in any way in such a manner that the Attendee or Event venue require compensation or further action to be taken for rectification, the Attendee responsible will be held fully liable. LWAP will not be held liable in any way.

(ii) The above Clause applies to any such Attendee that attends a LWAP Event without registration and without the knowledge of the LWAP Event Coordinator.

(iii) Where Event venue staff permit an Unregistered Attendee to attend, without the knowledge of LWAP, the unregistered Attendee will be held fully responsible and liable.

(f) LWAP will follow the policies and procedures of the event venue. All Attendees will be expected to do the same.

(g) LWAP makes every effort to hold Events at venues that are accessible to people of varying abilities. Should you have a unique accessibility concern, or any question regarding the accessibility of an Event venue, you may contact LWAP at hello@lwap.com.au with any enquiries.

 

4. DIGITAL EVENTS
(a) All standards in this policy apply to Digital Events as well. All LWAP Event Attendees must agree to all the standards and code of conduct.

(b) Attendees may not copy, record, take pictures of or screenshot digital events at any time in any way for the privacy of other Attendees.

(c) LWAP reserves the right to mute or remove from attendance any Attendee that does not abide by the standards set in this policy.

5. REMOVAL
(a) If an Attendee is removed for failure to abide by the standards set out in this Policy, the Attendee will not be eligible to receive or claim a refund or reimbursement of any kind for the event they were removed from.

(b) If harm or damage is inflicted upon an Attendee, Team Member, or the Event venue in any way during the removal of a person as a result of the removed Attendee’s actions, the Attendee or person that has caused the damage will be held fully responsible and liable for any damage to any property and persons. In such cases, LWAP, the harmed person/Attendee and the Event venue reserve the right to take any action deemed reasonable against the Attendee/s responsible as available under Australian Law.

6. MEDIA

(a) Photos and videos are taken at LWAP Events and posted on LWAP's website, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, in LWAP's Mini Mag, and may appear on other Meta platforms, Google, and LWAP advertisements for other Events, both printed and digitally.

(b) Photos displaying faces may be taken down or blurred at the request of the Attendee in the photo.

(c) LWAP does not post photos or videos online where children are included in the photo unless the Attendee has agreed to this Policy as well as LWAP's Privacy Policy. Such photos are blurred out as much as possible.

 

(d) All Attendees agree to media being used by LWAP according to Clause 6a when they accept or agree by checking a tick box prior to purchasing a ticket. Removal or blurring of videos and photos may be requested by emailing hello@lwap.com.au.

 

7. DEFINITIONS

Children refers to any person below the age of eighteen (18) years of age.

Adult refers to any person aged eighteen(18) years of age and above.

Attendee refers to all LWAP Volunteers and Team/Team Members or Employees, Contractors, Guests, Members and Non-Members, and anyone that attends LWAP Events. It refers to the people bound by this policy. This includes Adults and Children.

Unregistered Attendee refers to an Attendee that attends an Event without the knowledge or permission of LWAP by secretive means or during the course of an Event where LWAP Team Members are otherwise occupied an unable to grant permission to entry. This is also classified under Attendee.

Team/Team Member refers to a person/Attendee that is directly involved with the running of the event or execution of event plans as an Employee or Volunteer capacity as per the direction of the Event Coordinator/Planner.

Employee refers to a team member that is a part of LWAP under a paid contract or capacity.

Volunteer refers to a team member whose involvement with LWAP is voluntary and under a volunteer contract or capacity.

Digital Event refers to any event that is held online via platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Facebook, Instagram, Whatsapp, or any other online platform.

Policy refers to the Events Policy.
